Multi-phased projects in occupied assisted living facilities are nothing new for Valid Electric. We worked closely with the GC to ensure timely approval and deliveries of relevant items to ensure the project would remain on schedule. With limited space for stored materials, everything was stored offsite and brought in as needed. We became involved early in the project by assisting during the precon stages to ensure the project was within budget. Some of the renovated spaces included new lobby, dining room, kitchen, salon, reading room, misc. offices, as well as an in-house doctor’s office complete with multiple exam rooms.

Valid Electric was selected to perform the approx. 73,000-square foot renovation of the occupied Goodwin House assisted living facility in Alexandria Va. The 18-phase project was carefully carried out over the course of a year to prevent disruption to the residents and employees of Goodwin House. This required exacting coordination with the GC and other trades to ensure a smooth and seamless transition and turnover of the various phases. Our work included complete power, lighting, fire alarm system, and power distribution upgrades.

Valid Electric installed the electrical infrastructure for the six-story Reston MOB. The building was constructed adjacent to the existing hospital center for additional physician’s offices on the top floors and hospital services on the lower levels. The scope of work consisted of power distribution for the new building, including a 4000A Main Service with associated panelboards and transformers throughout to feed the future tenant fitouts. We installed a 350KW generator to provide emergency power for the building as well as provided shell space lighting and fire alarm system.
